PROJECT COMPREHENSIVE APPROACHES

The Group Approach leveraging on the SACCOs and V/YSLAs methodologies:

The SACCOs, Youth and Women Savings and Loans Associations and Village Savings and Loans Associations are core program delivery and community entry points for building socio-economic opportunities for the poor farmer households and the youth. Critical intervention areas include institutional strengthening and Organizational development hinging mainly on governance and leadership, records, financial and portfolio management systems development, products development, provision of start-ups where appropriate, business development services and compliance.

The GALS Methodology:

The Gender Action Learning Sustainable System is used in all engagements at all levels to examine, question, and change rigid gender norms and the imbalance of power between women and men and to facilitate inclusion and promote gender equity.  This starts with household visioning involving husband, wife and children in planning for their home/household.
