In Fort Portal City, Western Uganda, the urban areas are experiencing a rise in food insecurity. Low-income urban consumers may lack the ability to store food and may struggle to afford fuel for cooking. Typically, they buy food every day from informal traders and street vendors. Traditional foods that require more time to prepare are losing out to ‘faster’ foods.
