• KRC simplifies Police work

My name is Musinguzi David am a police Constable attached to Malembo C police post and my role is protect the refugee community and their property. Before KRC came to this community with the strategy to respond and prevent GBV, this place had a lot of crime rates from December 2017 –to April 2018 where we could receive 5- 7 GBV cases and other non GBV cases every month that ranged from physical assault, sale of food from households, theft of property, fighting between men and men because of being idol among others.

I rarely got leave to check on my family because all the time suspects were being arrested more especially men who were beating their wives, children and also women beating their men. You can imagine the way you see the nature of our station which has no cells and how we managed such numbers of suspects.

This place had turned into a court and counseling centre. Thanks to KRC for coming on board, it simplified our work that we are supposed to do in community policing where we are supposed to sensitize communities on the laws of Uganda and how to avoid committing crimes.
