KRC has in the last few months undergone series of leadership changes, aimed at improving the delivery of services to the communities and adequately contributing to the development processes in the Rwenzori Region, and Uganda at large. The changes have seen Mohammad Shariff replace Mr Mwanga Julius who had served at the helm of the institution for 10 years.
Sharif, who has been the Deputy Director of KRC for 10 years, but has served the Institution for 18 years, in various capacities, takes over management of the institution to build on the strong development edifice that has been built over the years,-right from the time it was founded by Hon Alex Ruhunda in 1996. Sharif holds a Masters Degree in Applied Social Research from the Prestigious Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland. Sharif will be deputized by Mr. Muzinduki Patrick who has been the Head of the Governance Policy and Advocacy Unit. Muzinduki equally has vast experience in community development. He holds a Master’s Degree in Development Studies specializing in policy analysis from Institute of Social Studies in Netherlands.
He has been a member of KRC Senior management for over 10 years and has worked with KRC for over 15 years in different capacities.
Other changes, saw Mr. Godfrey Kakande who has hitherto been the substantive accountant of the organization, get elevated to Acting Head of Finance Unit.
The other members of Senior Management remain unchanged In a related development, KRC recently inaugurated a new Board of Directors and a Supreme Governance Body called Board of Trustees. The supreme Body, which is charged inter alia; with appointing of the Board of Directors and the holding of all KRC properties in trust, is headed by Hon Alex Ruhunda. The Board of Directors is headed by Hon Beatrice Kiraso, the Former Deputy Secretary General of the East African Community
