In the bid to continue strengthening community development, KRC last evening donated a set of furniture to Kanyateete Women’s Group found in Harugongo Sub County, Kabarole District. The furniture donated included, 2 tables, a book shelf and a suggestion box. KRC has closely worked with this group for over a period of 4 years in the areas of farming and saving and credit ventures. This group is composed of highly motivated women and men with a passion of improving their households through farming focusing on bananas, okra and hibiscus. While speaking on the event, the Executive Director KRC Mr. Mohammed Shariff commended the good work that the group is doing and pledged to extend any support to the group. On the same event, the ED introduced to the group an Agriculture Extension Worker who will be based in the sub county and will have the sole responsibility of extending technical support to the group in areas of resilient farming, savings and credit and mobilization of farmers for collective action. The furniture was handed over to the group by the Head of Farming and Agribusiness Unit of KRC Ms Bihunirwa Medius. The members of the group appreciated KRC for the donation and commented that the donation came at a time when the group was faced by a challenge of insufficient furniture.
