My name is Asifiwe Kayenga I am a member of Tuendelee Nyamiganda Savings group. I have been saving with the group for the past 2 years. Last year I had a challenge my child was sick and I didn’t have any money on me I went to my group and I was able to receive emergence fund of 150,000 which I later paid back interest free.
All along I had lived in a house roofed by tarpaulins which I received from UNHCR or at times buy from friends that are selling tarpaulins upon receiving my 540,000/= savings from the group I bought 18 iron sheets and am now sleeping in an iron sheet roofed house in Nyamiganda and I used the balance to open up land to plant maize the this season my garden is in Nyamiganda block 7.
I am now ably saving my little proceeds from my farming harvest-courtesy of the trainings I have always received from KRC and WFP.I recently decided to take a loan of 120000 from the group to start vegetable growing though my vegetables are yet to mature am optimistic that I will harvest and repay the loan.
I am grateful to KRC and WFP for the trainings.
