• KRC conducts household food diaries

As part of concerted efforts by KRC and stakeholders to increase the uptake of traditional food diets in Kabarole District, KRC with financial support from Hivos has conducted Household Food diaries. The data collection took place in West and south divisions of Fort portal municipality. It was also conducted in the sub counties of Busoro, Kicwamba, Kasenda, Kabonero, Mugusu and Ruteete in kabarole district.

The citizens were asked to fill a tool showing the various food diversities they took in a week. They were able to tell what they ate in a day, ranging from breakfast lunch and dinner plus any snack after every meal in a day.


Going by the various testimonies from the interviewees, the tool used was appreciated for its detailed account of the food itinerary of the household. The interest was to such an extent that a number of people, who had been missed out due to the random selection followed the research to the KRC offices to get their own

The KRC team promised to give feedback to the interviewed Households –as one of way of building confidence among the communities in the Research studies
