Following the training KRC offered to the youth of Harugongo and Kasenda youth groups in banana juice processing, it was agreed that the group be supported with a start-up kit that had banana juice pasteurizer, digital juice processing equipment like refractmeter , weighing scale and standard ingredients among others. Kasenda youth group has since successfully processed and produced the first prototype of banana juice. KRC staff who had prior to the initiative acquired the training, guided the group to produce its first prototype. In food processing, products are first produced for testing in terms of appropriate ingredients, taste and shelf life. This information will be ascertained from volunteer consumers upon which improvements will be made to the product.
